The event offers information about dual enrollment, tuition savings, and how to get a head start.
Cochise College invites high school and homeschool students and their families to attend the Cochise College “Dual Enrollment Kick Off” event on Thursday, July 31, at 5:30 p.m. at the college’s Sierra Vista Campus, 901 N. Colombo Ave. The event features dual enrollment and early college programs that allow students to earn college credits in high school, saving time and money on their path to a degree or certificate. Brenda Kurtz, Director of Early College Programs at the college, said, “Our staff is here to guide students and their families through every step of the enrollment process.”
The free event is open to all families exploring affordable early college options and the benefits of Cochise College. Attendees can register for fall classes, meet with staff, and learn how to pay for college.
Not sure what Early College or Dual Enrollment is? That’s exactly why you should attend. Kurtz and the Early College team will be available to answer questions and offer support. The team will also assist in navigating the enrollment process, ensuring a smooth transition for students. This is your chance to discover how programs like dual and concurrent enrollment work and how students can graduate high school with college credits that are transferable and recognized by universities and employers.
Students who plan to register for classes at the event should bring a U.S. birth certificate or an Arizona driver’s license.
“We want families to see that starting college early is possible,” added Kurtz. “Early College programs allow students to get a head start, reduce overall tuition costs and build confidence as they transition to higher education.”
